The boswellic acids that come from frankincense have antibacterial properties, which may help prevent and treat oral infections, such as, bad breath, toothaches, and cavities.

Frankincense has anti-inflammatory properties and has been traditionally used to relieve symptoms of mild arthritis and enhance joint mobility.

Also used in perfumes, incense, and pastilles.
